SAGE University, Indore has been selected as the nodal centre for grand finale of Smart India Hackathon (SIH)-2020, Software Edition (Online Platform) on 1 st -3 rd August, 2020. It is a proud moment that SAGE University is the only nodal centre selected from Indore and 4 th from M.P. , out of the total 39 nodal centres all over India. Department of CSE/IT, SIRT is going to organize & conduct the grand finale on behalf of SAGE University.
SAGE University, Indore is selected as one of the nodal centres to facilitate the SIH software edition operations and support to participants. Total 27 Number of teams having 162 Number of participants are competing against 05 Number of Problem Statement from 01 Number of Ministry. SAGE UNIVERSITY is hosting problem statements given by BUREAU of POLICE RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT (BPR&D). Each Problem statement has a winning amount of Rs 1 lakh.
About SIH – Smart India Hackathon 2020 is a nationwide initiative to provide students a platform to solve some of pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mind-set of problem solving.
Following the tremendous success of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) in the last 3 consecutive years, the upcoming edition, SIH 2020 will involve intense competition for consecutive hours in a stipulated time frame. It will offer unique opportunity for participants to:

● Exchange ideas, thoughts, work ethics etc.
● Work and collaborate on projects with varied skilled individuals and learn from other’s strengths
Considering the current COVID 19 pandemic, the software edition of Smart India Hackathon 2020 will be conducted through an online platform, thus avoiding mass gathering. All the stakeholders shall get connected virtually through the online platform that will provide an ease of access to conduct the event and to maintain the legacy of SIH impact on Indian innovation ecosystem.
SIH 2020 Highlights:
Objective: To come-up with innovative solutions, opportunity for start-ups and collaborative research
Dates: 1st to 3rd August 2020 through an online platform connecting all stakeholders virtually. Themes for SIH 2020: A total of 11 themes, namely, Agriculture and Rural Development, Clean Water, Robotics and Drones, Healthcare and Biomedical Devices, Renewable Energy, Security and Surveillance, Smart Communication, Smart Vehicles, Waste Management, Food Processing and Miscellaneous.
Team formation: Each team consists of 6 students and 2 mentors (optional).
Duration: The software Edition will be a 36 Hours competition which will be held from 1st to 3rd August 2020.
Problem Statement: A total of 353 problem statements (258 Software and 95 Hardware) were selected and published on Smart India Hackathon 2020 portal: www.sih.gov.in for students to submit solutions. The problem statements were submitted by 50 Central/State Departments and Ministries and 20 Industries. Based on submission, 243 Problem Statements have been selected for grand finale and 1080 teams were shortlisted for Software Edition.
Prize money: Rs. 1,00,000 per problem statement to be given by Problem Statement (PS) creator organization if the idea is liked by the PS creator.

A total of 41 Nodal Centers have been selected to conduct the Software Edition of Smart India Hackathon. These Nodal Centers will be responsible for managing and conducting the event through the online platform. These nodal centers will also manage the student teams, organizations and ministries and evaluations of the student teams allocated under respective Problem Statement of organizations and Ministries.
