Overview of the Computer Science and Engineering Department

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of SAGE University focuses on the theoretical foundation of computing along with state-of-the-art development of computing solutions. The Department has modern facilities for teaching, learning and research. The Department offers a wide array of research opportunities and programs of study at undergraduate, postgraduate level & Doctoral level.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of SAGE has a mission to Empower every student to be industrious, creative and quality conscious in the field of Computer Science and Engineering by imparting quality education and inculcating human values. The faculty members are highly qualified and experienced with specialization in Networking, Algorithms, Data Mining, Image Processing, Software Engineering, Natural language processing, Computer graphics, Web Technology, Embedded systems, Evolutionary computing, Network security, Wireless sensor networks etc. Students are given proper exposure to current trends including embedded system design, network management and administration, bioinformatics, extreme programming, software architecture, sensor networks, grid computing, soft computing etc. through workshops, guest lectures, seminars by industry experts, professionals etc.

Today the Department of Computer Science is one of the growing departments of the SAGE University under the leadership of HOD Dr. Deepak K Yadav and all other well qualified and experienced faculty and lab staff members. Department having many MoUs with Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Cisco, Apple, HPE, trans neuron technologies ltd, REDHAT, IIT Delhi lab and many more to enhance students exposure with the outer world. Has a central computing lab for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. It also has a separate lab for the PG students and research scholars.

B.Tech, MTech and PhD students of CSE learn how to design, develop and test algorithms, software and develop effective solutions to computing problems in various social, economic and organizational domains and also working in various research Areas. Computer Science deals with information and computation and its approach to computation and associated applications is regarded to be practical and scientific

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs): -

PEO-1: Technical Skills & Industry Ready: To develop the ability to work with the core competence of computer science and engineering. students will apply technical skills to solve Industry, Engineering and societal problems. To prepare breadth and depth of knowledge to students for successful careers in industry that meet the needs of Indian and multinational companies.

PEO-2: Innovation, Research and Entrepreneurship: To involve students in interdisciplinary and collaborative research work in different areas. To develop entrepreneurship skills among students through evolving students in innovation, Research and startup activities.

PEO-3: Engineering Problem Solving: To provide students with a solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals to solve engineering problems.

PEO-4: Ethical and Socialism: To inseminate in a student's professional and ethical attitude, effective communication skills, team work skills, multidisciplinary approach, lifelong learning and an ability to relate engineering issues to broader social context.
