The main objective is to provide remote-access to Labs in various disciplines of Science and Engineering students and faculties and cater students at the undergraduate level, post graduate level as well as to research scholars. main objective is to provide remote-access to Labs in various disciplines of Science and Engineering. These Virtual Labs would cater to students at the undergraduate level, post graduate level as well as to research scholars.
To enthuse students to conduct experiments by arousing their curiosity. This would help them in learning basic and advanced concepts through remote experimentation
To provide a complete Learning Management System around the Virtual Labs where the students can avail the various tools for learning, including additional web-resources, video-lectures, animated demonstrations and self evaluation. To share costly equipment and resources, which are otherwise available, Virtual Lab does not require any additional infrastructural setup for conducting experiments at user premises. One computer terminal with broadband internet connectivity is all that is needed to perform the experiments remotely to limited number of users due to constraints on time and geographical distances. Workshops at regular intervals are conducted by inviting engineering colleges, different institutions and technical universities to get first hands-on experience on Virtual Labs at IIT Delhi. Subsequently, these colleges join Virtual Labs as Nodal Centers and start using Virtual Labs officially. The objectives of this workshop are
1. To understand the concept of Virtual Labs developed by all participating institutes.
2. To gain hands-on experience on Virtual Labs related to Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Description
This MOU mainly aims to engage students and faculties from SAGE University across country to utilize the NPTEL contents suitably by accessing the 932 courses that are uploaded on NPTEL website. Certification courses are offered twice a year (Jan-Jun, Jul-Dec). Joining a course is free. Anyone can learn from these courses anywhere anytime. No pre-requisites, no age limit, no entrance criteria to enroll.
National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is a project of MHRD initiated by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati and Roorkee) along with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2003, to provide quality education to anyone interested in learning from the IITs. The main goal was to create web and video courses in all major branches of engineering and physical sciences at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and management courses at the postgraduate level.
Learning can be done by watching videos and this is tested by the weekly assignments that are to be submitted online within the prescribed deadline. Any queries/doubts you may have, you can post in the respective discussion forum, which will be answered by the faculty and his/her team.
There is an optional proctored certification exam that the learner can take for a nominal fee at the end of the course to earn certificates from the IITs. The learner has to be present in person for the exam and currently exams are conducted only in India in about 130+ cities in two shifts. Learner has to appear at the designated exam centre to participate in the exam, where his/her id is verified. 25% of the final marks come from the Assignments and 75% from the final exam.
