The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology (CS and IT) at SAGE University focuses on building a strong theoretical foundation of computing along with the state-of-the-art development of modern computing solutions. The department has a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members, with expertise in areas such as Networking, Algorithms, Data Mining, Image Processing, Software Engineering, Natural Language Processing, Computer Graphics, Web Technology, Embedded Systems, Evolutionary Computing, Network Security, Wireless Sensor Networks, and more.
Students are provided strong exposure to emerging and industry-relevant technologies including Embedded System Design, Network Management and Administration, Bioinformatics, Extreme Programming, Software Architecture, Sensor Networks, Grid Computing, and Soft Computing through workshops, guest lectures, seminars, and expert sessions conducted by professionals and industry leaders.
The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology is one of the fastest growing departments of SAGE University, functioning under the leadership of HOD Dr. Sachin Patel, along with well-qualified faculty members and dedicated laboratory staff. The department has established multiple collaborations and MoUs with leading organizations and institutions such as AICTE Idea Lab, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Cisco, Apple, HPE, TransNeurone Technologies Ltd., REDHAT, IIT Delhi Lab, and several others, to strengthen students’ industry exposure and real-world learning opportunities.
The department offers well-developed computing infrastructure including a Central Computing Lab for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, along with a separate dedicated laboratory for PG students and research scholars.
B.Tech students learn to design, develop, and test algorithms and software systems, and create effective solutions to computing challenges across social, economic, and organizational domains. The discipline of Information Technology focuses on computation and its practical, scientific applications in solving real-world problems.
PEO-1: Technical Skills & Industry Ready: To develop the ability to work with the core competence of Computer Science and Information Technology. students will apply technical skills to solve Industry, Engineering and societal problems. To prepare breadth and depth of knowledge to students for successful careers in industry that meet the needs of Indian and multinational companies.
PEO-2: Innovation, Research and Entrepreneurship: To involve students in interdisciplinary and collaborative research work in different areas. To develop entrepreneurship skills among students through evolving students in innovation, Research and startup activities.
PEO-3: Engineering Problem Solving: To provide students with a solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals to solve engineering problems.
PEO-4: Ethical and Socialism: To inseminate in a student's professional and ethical attitude, effective communication skills, team work skills, multidisciplinary approach, lifelong learning and an ability to relate engineering issues to broader social context.
